Michigan TRI and Tier Two Reporting Workshop

This workshop will focus on the TRI report due July 1 and the Hazardous Chemical Inventory (Tier Two) report due March 1 required under the Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act. This workshop is recommended for owners, operators, and environmental and safety personnel of facilities that handle hazardous or toxic substances. Environmental consultants, local emergency planning committees, and fire department personnel might also benefit from this workshop and are encouraged to attend. All attendees will receive the 8th edition of the Michigan Facilities’ Guide to SARA Title III, Emergency Planning, and Release Reporting published January 2010.

Michigan TRI and Tier Two Reporting Workshops

In April, the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality is offering three all-day workshops on TRI reporting and Tier Two (Hazardous Chemical Inventory) reporting in three locations in the state. These workshops are recommended for owners, operators, and environmental and safety personnel of facilities that handle hazardous or toxic substances. Environmental consultants, local emergency preparedness committees, and fire department personnel might also benefit from this workshop and are encouraged to attend. At each of these workshops, attendees will focus on the TRI report due July 1 and the Hazardous Chemical Inventory (Tier Two) report due March 1 required under SARA Title III (also known as the Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act). All attendees will receive the 8th edition of the Michigan Facilities' Guide to SARA Title III, Emergency Planning, and Release Reporting that was published in January 2010.

Ruth Borgelt, State TRI Coordinator, Susan Parker, Community Right-to-Know Specialist, and Monika Chrzaszcz, U.S. EPA Region 5 Risk Management Plan (RMP) Specialist, will present at these workshops. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) from the November 2009 Toxics Release Inventory (TRI) Webinar

ECOS received numerous questions from attendees during the November 18th 2009 TRI Webinar. Many questions were answered by the Webinar presenters, but many were left unanswered due to time constraints.

The unanswered questions were passed along to the presenters who have provided responses to them. These can be found below in a “Frequently Asked Questions Bank” which has been assembled for this purpose. Additionally, the FAQ Bank also includes responses to some questions that were answered during the Webinar.
