ECOS, along with the U.S. EPA, will hold a TRI Webinar on May 10th from 1-2:30PM (EST) to discuss the “U.S. EPA’s TRI Information Center Services, Common Questions, and Resources”.
Background
The U.S. EPA’s Information Center can assist callers in understanding the TRI regulations, guidance, and reporting requirements, as well as properly completing forms with TRI-ME and TRI-MEweb. The Information Center does not provide regulatory interpretations. They do, however, maintain up-to-date information on the availability and distribution of publications and other resources pertaining to Information Center program areas.
This resource is greatly underutilized as many in the TRI community are unaware of the Information Center. This webinar offers an opportunity to raise awareness of the Information Center, to explain the services and assistance it provides, and point attendees to additional TRI resources.
Learning Objectives

- Learn about the most common TRI questions and answers received by the Information Center; and
- Familiarize the audience with other TRI resources.

Bethany Barnhart
Ms. Bethany Barnhart joined Booz Allen Hamilton in 2003 and provides environmental compliance and outreach support to EPA and other federal agencies. Ms. Barnhart has an M.S. in Environmental Science and Policy from Johns Hopkins University and a B.A. in Policy Studies and Resource Management from Dickinson College. She serves as the TRI Technical Manager at EPA’s Superfund, TRI, EPCRA, RMP & Oil Information Center, where she has developed expertise in the TRI regulations and reporting requirements, tracks regulatory developments, and communicates with EPA’s TRI Program for additional clarifications. Ms. Barnhart coordinates and presents TRI regulatory trainings and oversees the maintenance of the TRI Program’s searchable knowledge base containing frequently asked questions by ensuring the accuracy of existing questions and adding additional questions as necessary. In addition, Ms. Barnhart recently assisted with the development of recommendations to reduce redundancies and inefficiencies in the current information management procedures for collecting, processing, extracting, and disseminating TRI data. Ms. Barnhart also served as Project Manager for a TRI Data Quality Support project that involved the processing of withdrawal requests and applying regulatory knowledge to ensure the legitimacy of each request.
Martina Donati
Ms. Martina Donati joined Booz Allen Hamilton in 2008 after receiving her B.S. in Environmental Studies from Elon University. Ms. Donati supports EPA’s Superfund, TRI, EPCRA, RMP & Oil Information Center, where she responds to TRI inquiries received from the regulated community and federal, state, and local government officials. She serves as a TRI Subject Matter Expert, in which she has developed deep knowledge of TRI regulatory requirements, as well as the TRI-MEweb reporting application and the TRI Program’s suite of data dissemination tools (e.g., TRI.NET, TRI Explorer, myRTK.net). She composes frequently asked questions to clarify regulatory issues and develops and presents regulatory trainings. In addition, Ms. Donati recently assisted with the development of recommendations to reduce redundancies in the current information management procedures for collecting, processing, extracting, and disseminating TRI data.
Elsa Yoseph
Ms. Elsa Yoseph is a Senior Consultant with Booz Allen Hamilton where she has been supporting EPA’s Superfund, TRI, EPCRA, RMP & Oil Information Center for over two years. After receiving her B.S. in Marine Biology from the University of New England, Ms. Yoseph initially acted as an environmental analyst conducting Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments. In her current position as Senior Information Specialist at the Information Center, she provides compliance assistance to the regulated community and government officials by ensuring comprehension of the TRI regulations through applicable guidance, reviewing facilities’ reporting obligations, and offering direction in proper form completion using the TRI-MEweb reporting application. She also composes frequently asked questions to clarify regulatory issues and maintains the online searchable database of TRI frequently asked questions.
